ARALIA MING
ARALIA MING
The Ming Aralia (Polyscias), native to New Zealand, is part of the Araliaceae family. Unlike other members of this species, it will not produce flowers here. Its silhouette, defined by multiple trunks of various sizes, is definately something to witness.
The main asset of this indoor plant is unmistakably its lush and finely divided green foliage. Whether it is small or tall, the Ming Aralia will adorn any space where it is set with the grace and elegance which make its reputation.
MAINTENANCE
The Ming Aralia loves humidity; its soils should therefore watered when it dries almost to the first third of the potl. It may need a drink a bit more frequently than most other indoor plants. Just as the Spathiphyllum, it talks too. Leaves turning yellow are a sign of insufficient or incorrect watering. But do not worry; it will forgive you quickly for mistreating it... Set it far away from direct sun, which is not suitable for it. A zone where there is medium to good indirect light will make it very happy.
When you take possession of your plant, make sure you assess its watering needs. Before you give it a drink the first time, check the soil’s moisture level to verify whether or not it is moist near the surface. It is best to aerate the soil before the initial watering since it is often compacted to avoid shifting during transit. This also allows it to breathe and release moisture.
Rotate your plant periodically in order to encourage an even growth. Cleaning the leaves regularly will stimulate proper photosynthesis. As you wipe the foliage, inspect the leaves on either side to make sure there are no pests.
