The Austral Gem Fern is a beautiful tropical fern known for its deep-green, glossy, dense, and finely divided foliage. Its thick, lush fronds create an elegant and exceptionally full appearance. Compared with many traditional ferns, Austral Gem is relatively hardy and adapts particularly well to indoor growing conditions.

Light:

Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. It can tolerate lower-light conditions, although growth will generally be slower. Avoid intense direct sunlight, which may scorch the fronds. 

Water:
Keep the soil slightly moist but never waterlogged. Water when the surface begins to dry slightly. Avoid allowing the plant to remain completely dry for extended periods.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity. Good ambient humidity helps maintain lush foliage and reduces browning along the tips.

Good to know:

Austral Gem has thicker and more resilient fronds than many traditional ferns. It generally tolerates indoor conditions and brief periods of dryness better than many other fern varieties, making it an excellent choice for homes and offices.
