Water when the surface of the soil begins to dry slightly. Goldcrest Cypress prefers evenly moist, well-draining soil. Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely or leaving the roots sitting in water.

Appreciates moderate humidity and good air circulation. When grown indoors, avoid placing it directly beside heating sources or in extremely dry air.
