The Ficus carica, commonly known as the Fig Tree, is a Mediterranean fruit tree appreciated for its beautiful deeply lobed foliage and especially its sweet, flavorful figs. Our assorted selection may include Violette de Bordeaux, Yellow Long Neck, Italian varieties, and other cultivars depending on availability. Fruit color, size, and flavor can vary depending on the variety.

Light:

Thrives in full sun and ideally benefits from several hours of direct sunlight each day. Excellent sun exposure encourages strong growth and better fruit production. 

Water:
Water regularly and deeply during the growing season, particularly when grown in a container. Allow the surface of the soil to dry slightly between waterings and avoid keeping the roots constantly waterlogged. 

Adapts very well to normal outdoor humidity and does not require high humidity.

Good to know:

Different varieties produce fruit with distinctive characteristics. Violette de Bordeaux is known for its dark, sweet figs, while Yellow Long Neck generally produces large yellow-green figs. Italian varieties may offer a range of different fruit shapes, colors, and flavors depending on the cultivar available.
