The Ficus elastica, commonly known as the Rubber Plant, is a beautiful tropical plant known for its large, thick, glossy, and elegant leaves. Light:

Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium light. Excellent lighting encourages dense, healthy growth. Variegated varieties generally require more light to maintain their beautiful coloration.

Water:
Water when the top few inches of soil begin to dry. Water thoroughly and allow all excess water to drain. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet. 

Appreciates moderate humidity but generally adapts very well to normal household or office conditions. 

Good to know:

Ficus elastica can develop very large leaves and become an impressive specimen as it matures. It can also be pruned to encourage branching and create a fuller, bushier appearance.
