The Ficus Ginseng is a very popular tropical plant, easily recognized by its thick, exposed, sculptural roots that resemble miniature trunks. Its glossy, compact, deep-green foliage creates a beautiful contrast with its substantial base. Often grown in a bonsai style, each specimen develops a unique shape and plenty of character.

Light:

Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium light. Good lighting encourages dense growth and healthy foliage. Avoid sudden changes in light exposure.

Water:
Water when the top few inches of soil begin to dry. Water thoroughly and allow all excess water to drain. Avoid allowing the roots to remain in constantly waterlogged soil.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity but generally adapts well to normal household or office conditions.

Ficus Ginseng is actually a cultivated form of Ficus microcarpa. Its distinctive appearance comes from its thickened, exposed roots. It responds very well to pruning, allowing you to maintain a compact shape and gradually develop its bonsai-like appearance.
