Lithops, commonly known as Living Stones, are fascinating small succulents native to the arid regions of southern Africa. Their unusual appearance allows them to resemble small stones or pebbles, a natural adaptation that helps camouflage them in their native habitat. Our selection may include a variety of colors and patterns depending on availability.

Light:

Prefers very bright light with several hours of direct or gentle sunlight. Indoors, place Lithops close to a very bright window. Introduce direct sunlight gradually to prevent scorching.

Water:
Very little water. Lithops have a unique watering cycle and are extremely sensitive to overwatering. Allow the growing medium to dry completely between waterings. When new leaves are developing and absorbing the old pair, generally avoid watering until the old leaves have completely dried out.

Prefers low humidity, dry conditions, and excellent air circulation. Use a very well-draining cactus and succulent growing medium.

Good to know:

Lithops naturally replace their old pair of leaves with a new pair. During this process, the old leaves gradually shrivel as their stored water is transferred to the new growth. Do not remove the old leaves prematurely. Mature plants may also produce beautiful daisy-like flowers, typically white or yellow.
