The Opuntia microdasys, commonly known as the Bunny Ears Cactus, is a highly decorative cactus easily recognized by its oval green pads covered with small clusters of glochids. Our assorted selection primarily includes White Bunny Ears, with white glochids, and Yellow Bunny Ears, with golden-yellow glochids.

Light:

Prefers very bright light with several hours of direct sunlight. Indoors, place it near a very sunny window. Introduce the plant gradually to intense direct sunlight to prevent scorching.

Water:
Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow all excess water to drain. Reduce watering considerably during winter. Never allow the growing medium to remain constantly wet.

Prefers low humidity, dry conditions, and excellent air circulation. Use a very well-draining cactus and succulent growing medium.

Good to know:

White Bunny Ears has predominantly white glochids, while Yellow Bunny Ears features golden-yellow glochids. Despite their soft, fuzzy appearance, glochids are tiny spines that detach very easily and can become embedded in the skin. Always handle the plant carefully.
