The Watermelon Peperomia is a beautiful compact tropical plant known for its distinctive foliage that resembles the rind of a watermelon. Its round to slightly oval leaves feature elegant silver and dark green stripes and are held on long stems that often display reddish tones.

Its graphic foliage and compact growth habit make it a highly decorative plant, perfect for desks, shelves, and smaller bright spaces.

Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Good lighting encourages compact growth and helps maintain the attractive red tones of the foliage. Avoid intense direct sunlight.

Water:

 Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry between waterings. Avoid keeping the growing medium constantly wet, as Peperomia are sensitive to overwatering. Excellent drainage is recommended.  

Appreciates moderate humidity but generally adapts very well to normal household conditions.

Good to know:

The Watermelon Peperomia gets its name from the silver and green striping on its leaves, which resembles watermelon rind. Unlike Ripple Peperomia varieties, its leaves are smoother, rounder, and individually held on long petioles. It may also produce slender flower spikes above the foliage.
