PEPEROMIA OBTUSIFOLIA
The Peperomia obtusifolia is a member of the Piperaceae family native to South America. It is sought for by plant lovers given the heart shape of its foliage. Easy to care for, it is ideal for those who wish to go green!
The Peperomia obtusifolia develops a rosette of thick variegated green and white leaves. A true must to adorn a window sill and a great addition to your ongoing succulent family! Though it may seem like the latter, its watering will vary.
MAINTENANCE
The Peperomia obtusifolia appreciates good ambient light but dislikes direct sun, which can scorch its foliage. Ideally, place it in an eastern facing window. It you choose a southern or western exposition, place it where it will receive indirect light. Give your Peperomia obtusifolia a drink when its soil dries almost completely from top to bottom. The frequency may vary depending on the season and humidity level of the room.
When you take possession of your plant, make sure you assess its watering needs. Before you give it a drink the first time, check the soil’s moisture level to verify whether or not it is moist near the surface. It is best to aerate the soil before the initial watering since it is often compacted to avoid shifting during transit. This also allows it to breathe and release moisture.
Rotate your plant periodically in order to encourage an even growth. Cleaning the leaves regularly will stimulate proper photosynthesis. As you wipe the foliage, inspect the leaves on either side to make sure there are no pests.
