Saxifraga stolonifera is a charming plant with rounded, slightly velvety foliage beautifully patterned with silver veining over a green background. The undersides of the leaves can develop reddish to purple tones, adding even more contrast.

It produces long runners carrying small plantlets, creating an attractive cascading habit that makes it especially well suited for hanging baskets.

Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates medium light. Avoid intense direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate foliage.

Water:
Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Keep the growing medium lightly moist during active growth without allowing it to become waterlogged. Avoid letting the plant remain completely dry for extended periods.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity with good air circulation. It generally prefers slightly cooler conditions than many traditional tropical houseplants.

Despite the common name Strawberry Begonia, this plant is neither a strawberry nor a true Begonia. It naturally produces long runners with small plantlets that can easily be propagated. It can also produce delicate small white flowers on slender stems.
