Pink Tradescantias are beautiful trailing plants prized for their exceptionally colourful foliage. Depending on the variety, the leaves display different combinations of green, pink, cream, white, and purple, creating a bright and decorative plant.

Their fast growth and cascading habit make them especially attractive in hanging baskets, on shelves, and in elevated planters.

Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Excellent light helps maintain the pink colouring and variegation of the foliage. Insufficient light can cause the plant to become greener and develop more stretched growth. Some gentle direct sunlight can be beneficial, but avoid intense sun.

Water:
Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Avoid keeping the growing medium constantly wet.

Adapts well to normal household humidity. Moderate humidity can be beneficial, but avoid keeping the foliage constantly wet.

Good to know:

These cultivars can vary considerably in appearance. Nanouk generally develops relatively broad leaves striped with green, cream, and pink with purple undersides. Bubblegum and Pink Paradise are especially prized for their beautiful pink colouring and highly variable variegation. Regularly pinching or trimming the growing tips helps maintain a dense, well-branched plant. Cuttings also root very easily.
